With over 10 years of maturity in financial analysis, auditing, management control and trade policy advocacy, Mr Kenneth Tanyi has a distinguished competency in international trade policy and development. Having practised with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the African Union Commission (AUC) since 2013 and recently appointed to the Office of the Secretary General of the Commission (OSGC) in September 2015, he is very much abreast with Africa’s regional integration frameworks, boosting Intra-African Trade (BIAT) and fast-tracking the establishment of a Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA). Infused with a sound knowledge of African trade practices, marketing channels, regulations and policies, Mr Kenneth was appointed by the World Trade Advisors (WTA) & World Trade Academy as Senior Business Development Manager for Africa in September 2014. His contributions and aptitude of motivating collaborators towards meeting corporate targets at unilateral, bilateral and multilateral levels have yielded several success stories in the domains of trade policy formulation, norm-setting, sequencing and effective regulation in Africa. Having published several economic policy articles, MrTanyi has contributed to the successes of several AU Ministerial conferences and international conferences and workshops all over the world. Amongst them notably are, his contributions to the drafting the Addis Ababa Declaration on World Trade Organization (WTO) Issues, the AU declaration on Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs), the AU declaration on the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), the Terms of Reference (ToR) and Rules of Procedures (RoP) for the Continental Task Force (CTF) towards sequencing the conduct of the CFTA negotiation forum, which were all formally adopted at the 8th Ordinary Session of AU Ministers of Trade, October 2013. Mr Kenneth continues to dedicate his accomplishments to Africa’s struggle for deeper regional integration
