He is the head of the Laboratory of spectroscopy micro-Raman, FTIR and EXAFS and optical techniques at the Department of Physics, University of Parma. He has contributed to the construction of Line Italian GILDA Absorption of X-rays from Synchrotron at ESRF in Grenoble. From 2000 to 2010 he was Deputy Rector for Libraries of the University of Parma and until 2013 Deputy Rector for the University Museum System, participating in the Commission Museums CRUI. From 2002 to 2012 he was a member of the Scientific Committee of the University Publishing House Monte Parma (MUP), and the Board of Directors of the MUP from 2012 to 2015. Since 2004 he participates in the Board of Directors of the Foundation Museum Guatelli. He has authored and published more than 300 research and review articles Solid State Physics, Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Optics, Mineralogy, Raman Spectroscopy in various prestigious scientific journals.
Research Interest
Pier Paolo LOTTICI’s research focuses on theoretical and experimental problems for the structural and dynamic characterization techniques with micro-Raman spectroscopy of optical IR, vis, UV, in crystalline systems, including mineralogical, insulators and semiconductors, and glass systems or organic-inorganic hybrids for optical or optoelectronics, spectroscopic investigations of materials for Cultural Heritage, hybrid nanostructured compounds for photocatalytic applications and drug delivery. His major research topic is the study of vibrational dynamics in minerals, both by Raman spectroscopy that ab-initio.
