Marzena Smol is Research Associate in The Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Cracow. She specializes in the economic and environmental aspects of the introduction of innovative technologies on the market, including projects focusing on the use of waste in construction industry as an environmentally-correct alternative. Ms Smol has 5 years experience in environmental engeenering and in recent years she has focused her efforts on life cycle assessment (LCA) as technique to assess environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product's life from ‘cradle to grave’.
She received BSc. and MSc. degrees in Environmetal Protection from Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa (Institute of Chemistry) in 2008 and 2010, respectively. Moreover, she received BSc. degree in Management from Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa (Institute of Marketing Management) in 2011 and MSc. degree in International Project Management from Czestochowa University of Technology (Institute of Business Management) in 2013. She finished PhD studies in 2015 in the field of Science (Environmental Engineering) at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology, Czestochowa University of Technology.
