Biography

M.V. Usha Rani is working in Department of Environmental Sciences Bharathiar University Coimbatore- 641046, Tamil Nadu, India. Developed monitoring of environmental pollutants using different test systems for gene mutations and established the baseline frequency of gene mutations in occupationally exposed workers in dye industries, foundries, tanneries, etc. Established identification of anti-agents against pollutants, which brings about mutations and cancer in mammals.Developed methods to identify vitamins, trace metals, medicinal plants and greens, which are protective in nature against DNA damage in vivo mammalian cells. Initiated human genome diversity studies for quantification to examine the variation and nature of the human genome to partially reconstruct the evolution of man.
