Marcelo Kremenchutzky is the Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic in London, Ontario. He is a Consultant Neurologist at the London Health Sciences Centre – University Hospital, a Scientist, Clinical Neurosciences Program, Lawson Health Research Institute, and an Associate Professor (Neurology) in the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences at Western University (Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry) in London (Ontario) Canada.
Dr Kremenchutzky received his MD and a Masters Degree in Health Care Education from the University of Buenos Aires and acquired much of his early medical training as well as his Neurology specialization in Argentina. He completed a Research and Clinical Fellowship in the Clinical neurological Sciences Department with special focus on MS, working under Professors G. Ebers and G. Rice, and gained much of his expertise in Canada where he further continued his Academic Neurology career.
Dr Kremenchutzky is a member of a number of leading neurology societies including Canadian, American and European organizations. His areas of interest, in addition to the practice of Clinical Neurology, are university teaching, public education and neuroscience research. His educational activities have included undergraduate and post graduate teaching as well as numerous presentations to academic colleagues, family physicians, general public and patient groups throughout Canada and abroad. He has published in the field of multiple sclerosis in a number of first class journals and has presented extensively at all levels both locally and internationally. His main focus is the study of MS and other demyelinating disorders, focusing on the epidemiology, natural history and treatment of this devastating disease.
Dr. Kremenchutzky's main interest is the study of MS and other demyelinating disorders, focusing on the epidemiology, natural history and treatment of this still mysterious disease. His most recent research has focused on the much under investigated nature of progressive MS. In addition to his own research, Dr. Kremenchutzky is currently involved in clinical trials to study new treatments in MS. It is his hope that these endeavors will contribute to a breakthrough in the much desired yet still evasive cure for people living with MS.
