As a pediatric neurologist, I have always been interested in the relationship between autism and epilepsy. Children with autism are much more likely to have epilepsy than the general population and the question is why? In my most recent textbook on autism*, I have an entire chapter (Chapter 10) on this subject of epilepsy in autism, discussing all its aspects and including pages of references. I work with research teams in Paris, France (INSERM, Pasteur Institute) studying genomic errors in individuals with autism, including those with epilepsy.
