Biography

Pablo Mendez-Lazaro is an Assistant Professor at the University of Puerto Rico, USA. He is awarded PhD in Environmental Sciences-Management of Water Resources from University of Salamanca. He has done M.S. in Integrated Coastal Zone Management Marinas from University of Cadiz and B.A. Geography from University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras Campus. He has a broad background in physical geography, with specific training and expertise in key research areas such as GIS, hydrology, marine sciences and climate change. He has been a research assistant at the Hispano-Luso Center of Agricultural Research of the University of Salamanca with the Water Resources Research Group (HIDRUS).It currently belongs to the Ibero-American network of Integrated Coastal Zone Management (IBERMAR) and serves as a Professor of aquatic environment, coastal zone management and water pollution. It maintains active research projects and collaboration with various federal, state and international agencies; including Junta de Castilla y León (Spain), National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), US Forest Service and National Weather Service, where he developed research focused on hydrology, hydro-climatic analysis, coastal areas and watersheds.
