Paul Arora

Biography

Dr. Paul Arora is an epidemiologist by training and currently serves as Epidemiologist and Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Global Child Health at the Hospital for Sick Children. Paul’s primary research interests are in the application and development of knowledge synthesis and quantitative epidemiologic methods to address the global burden of diseases and longitudinal patterns of change.

Paul has co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed scientific publications in influential journals including The Lancet, The American Journal of Epidemiology (AJE), British Medical Journal (BMJ), Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), and the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) amongst others. He was part of the technical advisory group for India’s National AIDS Control Organization Targeted Intervention Evaluation Group, co-authored a chapter on HIV control for India’s National Commission on Macroeconomics and Health and was a member of The Lancet Diarrhoea and Pneumonia Interventions Study Group.

He is also a Biologist at the Public Health Agency of Canada in the National Public Health Laboratory. Paul is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto where he teaches. He has recently served as Secretary for the Canadian Society of Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CSEB) and was Co-Chair of the Executive Committee for the 2015 CSEB Biennial Conference in Toronto, Canada.
