Biography

He is awarded PhD in Ceramics from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India in the year 1976.He holds a Master Degree (MSc) in Physics from Annamalai University in the 1963, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Physics from Andhra University, India in the 1961. he has been a recipient of many award and grants. Currently, he is working as an professor and in-charge for Powder Metallurgy & Ceramics Laboratory Dept. Of Metallurgical Eng.& Materials Science, CONSULTANT: POWDER METALLURGY,CERAMICS IIT Bombay .His international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study.

Processing and Characterization of Powder metallurgy components, Advanced Ceramics, Diamond tools and Composites, Sol-gel processing of ceramic powders, Synthesis of nano titanium powders and composites, Synthesis of Hydroxy Apatite, Bio- glasses and their composites, Synthesis of high strength, bio compatible Titanium and functionally gradient Titanium composites, Sintering and mechanical properties of PSZ and ZTA ceramics, Reaction sintering of silicon nitride, Cordierite honeycombs, and Perovskite Catalysts for oxidation catalytic converters, Point defects and electrical behaviour of barium titanate PTC's, Zinc oxide varistors and high TC superconductors, Diamond and Cubic Boron nitride coatings by CVD, Mechanisms of material removal during fine polishing of advanced ceramics and glasses, Fine polishing of ceramics and glasses to nano- scale finish.
