Randah R Hamadeh

Biography

Dr. Randah Ribhi Hamadeh is a Professor of Epidemiology and the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences (CMMS), Arabian Gulf University (AGU). She chaired the department of Family and Community Medicine, CMMS, AGU from 2005 to 2010. Prof. Hamadeh was the advisor to the Assistant Undersecretary for Training and Planning, Ministry of Health, Bahrain from 2005 to 2014. She served on several occasions as consultant faculty and advisor to the World Health Organization-Eastern Mediterranean Region, American University of Beirut, International Epidemiologic Association, and other organizations. In addition to teaching, her academic contributions include program and curricula development and implementation, supervision of students’ undergraduate and graduate research. Prof. Hamadeh conducted several research including publications in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in books, abstracts, data sets, unpublished reports and presentations in conferences and workshops. Her research interests include non-communicable diseases, cancer, tobacco, lifestyle, mental health, women’s health, elderly health, injuries, health policy and systems, environmental health, climate change and mortality. She served on editorial boards of journals and is an external reviewer to several scientific international journals and research grants.
