Ranjith N. Kumavath

Biography

Dr. Ranjith N. Kumavath received Ph.D from University of Hyderabad with specialization in Molecular Microbial Biochemistry/Genetics. Before joining CUK in 2011, he worked as Post-Doctoral Research Fellows at 1st UGC- D.S.Kothari Post-Doc in UoH, Hyderabad, 2nd School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and 3rd School of Biomedical Sciences, Mercer University, Georgia, USA. He has been awarded Young Scientists award by DST, Govt. of India; Bio-Asia young scientist by Govt.of A.P and Fellow of the Society of Applied Biotechnology (FSAB) by SAB. Presently, he is operating two major research projects funded by UGC-BSR and SERB-DST Govt. of India. He has published 1 Book; 3 Book chapter and 19 Research publications in leading international journals. Discovered 4 Novel enzymes (IUBMB) and made 11 national and 9 international presentations. He has research collaboration with University of Hyderabad; IIOAB, West Bengal, Cancer Science Institute of Singapore and San Diego State University, USA.

Research Interest

His main areas of research interests are: Cancer Genomics, Microbial Genetic and Metagenomics, Human Infective Diseases and Computational Drug Design. His laboratory was dedicated towards developing Anti-cancer agents from microbial recourses for target based drug discovery.
