Biography
Dr. Fayek is an Associate Professor of surgery and the director of the living donor transplant program at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Fayek’s clinical interests include multi-organ transplantation with a focus on liver and living donor liver transplantation, as well as management of liver and bile duct tumors. He has a keen interest in advanced, minimally invasive and robotic techniques. In 2013, he pioneered the single incision living donor nephrectomy at Rush University and was the first to introduce it in Illinois. Dr. Fayek has been actively involved in teaching general surgery residents and transplant surgery fellows. His clinical research focuses on improved organ utilization and transplantation outcomes. He has edited and published multiple peer reviewed articles in the field of transplantation. Medical and scientific society memberships include the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, International Liver Transplantation Society and the American Colleague of Surgeons.
