Biography

Dr. Saskia Biskup, MD, PhD is the Founder of CeGaT GmbH in 2009 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Biskup is a Human Geneticist, Research Scientist and Bioinfomatician. During a two year scholarship sponsored by the German Research Foundation, she gathered international experience at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, USA. Her own research revolves around LRRK2, a gene involved in Parkinson's disease, and the development of new biomarkers to enable early prediction of neurodegenerative diseases. She has been a Member of Advisory Board at Landesbank Baden-Wuerttemberg since May 2014. She was the first to discover variations in the LRRK2 gene.
