Prof. Dr. Simone van de Sande-Lee has received her PhD in the University of Campinas in 2011. Currently, she is working as a Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Her research has included hypothalamic alterations in obesity and brown adipose tissue metabolism. Based on this research she has received honorable mention at Capes Prize of Theses 2012. She is serving as an editorial member of journals like Journal of Diabetes and its Complications, Arquivos Brasileiros de Endocrinologia e Metabologia, Arquivos Brasileiros de Ciências da Saúde.
