Srikant Vallabhajosula

Biography

Srikant Vallabhajosula is Ph.D. in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. He completed his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, University of Cincinnati and B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University.An advocate for good posture, Srikant Vallabhajosula focuses on the effects of aging and neurological conditions like Parkinson's disease and Multiple Sclerosis on postural control and gait. He also investigates the effects of deep brain stimulation and Tai Chi on posture. A biomechanics expert, Dr. Vallabhajosula uses tools such as 3D motion capture systems, instrumented force platforms, and instrumented walkways to answer his research questions. His research interests also expand to estimating the physical activity levels in different populations.
