Steven A Sparr

Professor of Clinical Neurology, The Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology,USA


Dr. Sparr has special interest in stroke and behavioral neurology.  He is very active in medical education, serving as Director of Clerkships in Neurology, formerly as Director of Residency Training in Neurology and on the committee that created a dynamic new course in Neurology and Neuroscience for the second year medical students and continues to actively participate in teaching the course. Dr. Sparr is board certified in Internal Medicine, Neurology, Vascular Neurology and Neurorehabilitation. He has an active clinical practice in general Neurology at Montefiore Medical Center where he also serves as Director of Stroke Service, Director of the Neurovascular Laboratory and Director of Neurorehabilitation of the Stern Stroke Center. He has been local principle investigator or coinvestigator on over 20 clinical trial of stroke treatments. Dr Sparr has a strong interest in behavioral neurology and most recently has lectured nationally and internationally on various aspects of the Neurology of Music.
