Suzanne Polinder

Biography

Suzanne Polinder was born in Kampen on June 12, 1977. She earned her high school diploma in 1995 at the John Calvin Lyceum Kampen. From 1995 to 1999 she was trained HBO nursing at the Windesheim in Zwolle. As part of these studies, she completed her internship in Pakistan. Then she started her studies in Health Policy and Management at the Erasmus University. In 2003 she received her doctoral degree. During her studies she worked as a nurse in the department of nephrology at the Sint Franciscus Hospital in Rotterdam. In August 2002 she was appointed as a junior researcher at the Institute of Public Health at the Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam. She was a health economist involved in cost-effectiveness studies of new treatments to include esophageal cancer and IVF. She was also involved in an international research project on the cost of accidents in Europe and a project on the quality of life of accident patients in the Netherlands.
