Dr. Nathaniel earned his PhD in Neuroscience from the International Graduate School of Neuroscience, Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany. This training covers molecular, cellular, systems, cognitive, clinical and computational neurosciences, thus providing a very comprehensive knowledge of the field. His training in Neuroscience provides a complete experience with international network of renown and world leaders in neuroscience, with the exposure to a wide range of approaches, perspectives and disciplines within neuroscience.
Dr. Nathaniel did his postdoctoral training at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Prior to joining the faculty of the USC School of Medicine Greenville, he served on the academic faculty of Marywood University and clinical faculty at The Commonwealth Medical College, both in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He taught and coordinated programs in Histology, Anatomy/physiology and Neuroscience, while also serving in differently committees including, IUCUC, students’ concerns committee and instructional effectiveness committee.
A prolific author, Dr. Nathaniel has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and written book chapters. He is currently an associate editor and member of the editorial boards of several scientific journals. Dr. Nathaniel received awards for Education and Research including DAAD scholar award, ECNP and Volkswagen awards.
Dr. Nathaniel focuses his research on a combination of molecular, cellular and system neuroscience, using interdisciplinary approaches in translational research in stroke and drug addiction. He is also coordinates stroke management programs.
