Biography
Dr. Valery Alakhov, Ph.D. serves as Vice-President of Research & Development and Chief Scientific Officer of Supratek Pharma Inc. Dr. Alakhov is a co-founder of Supratek and co-inventor of the Biotransport_ and SP-MET-X_ technology platforms. Dr. Alakhov has published extensively in the areas of oncology, polymer chemistry, drug delivery and nanomedicines, and has over 70 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has more than 20 years experience as leader of highly productive research and development teams that filed 26 US patents and has developed a pipeline of eight novel product candidates against MDR and metastatic cancers. He served as a Director of Supratek Pharma Inc. since 1994. He holds a Ph.D in molecular biology at the Institute of Molecular Biology, USSR Academy of Sciences and an M.Sc. in organic chemistry from the Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology.
