W. Allan King’s research focuses on reproductive biotechnologies, more specifically, processes related to the early stages of reproduction which as a result have an effect on reproductive efficiency. His research is within the realm of animal science and veterinary medicine and pertains to agricultural species both in Canada and Brazil. Professor King and his lab have been conducting this type of research in Brazil beginning in the 1980s and have since developed many collaborations. Currently, professor King is working closely with the veterinary/agriculture faculty in both the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA) and the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) as a senior foreign scientist carrying out his research through the program Scientists without Borders and CAPES. In addition to research, he also gives lectures and seminars in courses related to reproductive biotechnology.
