Waseeh Ahmed is a faculty in the department of Forensic Biology Group, School of Applied Sciences, University of Huddersfield, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, UK. Waseeh grew up in Lahore, Paskistan, coming from a family where science had a prominent role. “My father, by profession is a petroleum engineer and has worked for about 45 years in the oil industry, both in Pakistan, and in many other countries”, he says. A disciplined upbringing where respect and integrity were emphasised helped Waseeh to achieve success in his education.
In addition to his education, he has also been a keen sportsman, “I was given the opportunity to play squash at a professional level and represented my country in a few international tournaments.”
Waseeh always had a strong interest in the sciences, “I have always been fascinated by chemistry and more specifically the way different compounds interact with each other to form new compounds.
