Dr. William R. Maddox is a graduate of the University of Georgia (BS) and the Medical College of Georgia (MD). He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia where he was both chief resident and chief fellow. He also completed his fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He joined the faculty at Georgia Health Sciences University in July 2012. Dr. Maddox focuses on all aspects of electrophysiology with a special interest in complex arrhythmia. His research interests include emerging treatment modalities for atrial arrhythmias. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine and will be taking the Cardiac Electrophysiology certification exam this fall.
