Xingxing Zhang

Biography

He is an Assistant Professor at The University of Nottingham Ningbo China. He has the multidisciplinary research experience in building physics/service engineering, building energy management and building energy economics. Before he joined in UNNC, he was a postdoctoral research associate at the School of Engineering, University of Hull, UK, where he obtained his PhD degree in solar energy engineering. Prior to this, he spent about one year as a research assistant at the Institution of Energy and Sustainable Development, De Montfort University, UK. Following the award of a BEng degree in Built Environment and Services Engineering from the Donghua University (China), he continued to pursue MSc degree in Sustainable Building Technology at the University of Nottingham, UK. Upon graduation, he participated in the Capital Master Plan, the historic renovation project of the United Nations Headquarters Complex in New York and then became an accredited professional in LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) to work as an energy consultant on green building design at a non-profit organization in Shanghai, China. In 2010, he was awarded a second Master degree in Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning (HVAC) from Donghua University. He started his MBA course in global energy at the University of Warwick, UK since May of 2015.Dr Zhang has active research interests in solar energy engineering, green-building design and consultancy, simulation and monitoring of building energy performance, big energy data analysis, energy-efficient techniques and building economic model. He is the Editor-in-Chief/Editorial Board Member of many peer reviewed journals and his area of expertise, as a Professor credits him with many publications in national and international journals. He is committed to highest standards of excellence and it proves through his authorship of many books and patents.
