He was born in Chiba, Japan and graduated from Chiba University School of Medicine in 2000. After engaging in a field of clinical psychiatry, he belonged to Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare in Japan from 2004 to 2006, in which he contributed to the enforcement of the new legislation on forensic mental health in Japan. He moved to Chiba University Hospital as an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry in 2006. Now, he is a lecturer at Chiba University Hospital.
