Biography

Dr. Duan’s research interest is in the areas of bacterial pathogenicity and oral microbiome. His research program focuses on understanding how pathogens cause infectious diseases in humans and how they interact with the host and with each other in a microbial community. He also investigates how bacterial pathogens become resistant to antimicrobial drugs. Dr. Duan’s research aims to explore new chemical agents and/or new ways to deal with infectious diseases.
