Biography
Dr. Kotaro Hirasawa received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in engineering from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1964 and 1966, respectively. From 1966 to 1992, he was with Hitachi, Ltd., where he was the Vice President of the Hitachi Research Laboratory. From December 1992 to August 2002, he was a Professor in the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University. Since September 2002, he has been a Professor in the Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems, Waseda University, Kitakyushu, Japan.
