He is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, currently working at Stepping Hill Hospital (SHH), Stockport and Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI). He received his MD in Cardiology, in 2001, investigating the vascular response to coronary stents, from University of Sheffield before moving to Manchester, a Masters in Health Ethics and Law, from the University of Manchester in 2012. A Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, London) as well as the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), he continues to maintain strong research interests, which in basic science, based at University of Manchester, are currently investigating the use of stem cells to regenerate cardiac muscle following a heart attack as well as in clinical work acting as Principal Investigator (PI) for a number of national and international Clinical trials. He has published several peer-reviewed articles arising from his research and clinical work and continues to provide supervision for medical students and researchers at University of Manchester.
