Biography
A/Prof. Paula Lam has received her PhD from University of Leeds in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Currently, she is the principal investigator at the National Cancer Centre in Singapore, and holds an associate adjunct professorship position at the National University of Singapore (Department of Physiology) and Duke-NUS (Singapore). Her primary research interests include cancer and stem cell biology, and cancer gene therapy using various viral vectors. She has received several awards, including NMRC-Hong Leong Foundation Medical Research Scientist Award, 2005; 14th ASM Young Scientist Award, Singapore General Hospital, 2003. She is serving as an editorial member of Cancer Gene Therapy, The Open Gene Therapy Journal and the American Journal of Cancer Therapy and Pharmacology. She also serves as reviewers for journals such as cancer gene therapy, gene therapy, molecular therapy, stem cell research and therapy, clinical cancer research, stem cells, blood, PLoSONE etc. She has published more than 40 journals and is an author of a book chapter in Stem Cell based Therapeutics for Cancer. Khalid Shah (Ed). Wiley-Blackwell. In press. (2013). She is also the international committee member of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy and the Stem Cell Society Singapore.
