Biography
Dr.S.Venkata Mohan has received his PhD in 1998 from Sri Venkatsewara University, Tirupati, India. Currently, he is working as Principal Scientist in Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad since 1998. His research are in the domain of Environmental Biotechnology and Bioenergy in the field of ‘Waste to Bioenergy’ encompassing Biohydrogen, Microbial Fuel Cells, Bio-electrochemical Treatment and algal based fuels. He has successfully guided 15 Ph.D. students, and more than 50 M.Tech., B.Tech., and M.Sc. students. He have authored 212 research articles, 22 chapters for books and has 7 patents. His publications have so far received more than 5180 citations, and have an h-index of 40 (Google Scholar). He worked as Visiting Professor at Kyoto University (2005) and Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) Fellow at Technical University of Munich, Germany (2001-02). He was elected fellow of Biotech Research Society of India (FBRSI), Andhra Pradesh Akademy of Sciences (FAPASc) and Institution of Engineers (FIEI). He has received several awards and honors, such as ‘National Bioscience award-2012’ by DBT, Government of India, ‘Prosper.net-Scopus Young Researcher Award in Sustainable Development under Energy Category-2010’ by United Nations University and Elsevier, ‘NASI-Scopus Young Scientist Award- 2010’ in Earth, Oceanographic & Environmental Sciences by NASI and Elsevier, Nawab Zain Yar Jung Bahadur Memorial Prize-1994 by The Institution of Engineers (India), etc. He is at present subject Editor for the Journal of Energy and is serving as an editorial member of several journals, The Open Waste Management, Advances in Energy Research, An International Journal and Dataset Papers in Geosciences and expert Reviewers for various journals published by RSC, Elsevier, Taylors, Wiley, ACS, Springer, etc.
