Toin H van Kuppevelt present working as Associate Professor in Department of Biochemistry, Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences, Radboud University Medical Center, Netherlands. Toin H van Kuppevelt international experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different countries for diverse fields of study. Toin H van Kuppevelt research interests reflect wide range of publications in various national and international journals.
Toin H van Kuppevelt research interests focused on the role of extracellular matrix molecules, notably proteoglycans, in health and disease. Special attention is given to glycosaminoglycans, the sugar moiety of proteoglycans, and their role in renal/lung pathology, and in cancer. In addition, matrix molecules such as collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans are used to construct molecularly-defined scaffolds for tissue engineering. The aim is to prepare smart scaffolds to generate specific tissues such as skin, cartilage and blood vessels.
