An In vitro Approach to Evaluate the Anti Adipogenesis Activity of Passiflora edulis f Flavicarpa Degener Leaf Extracts in 3T3-L1 Cell Lines

Context: Obesity has been proved to be a complex multifactorial chronic disease in today’s era accelerating the risk for Type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, and hypertension. The use of natural products in the management of obesity as well as reducing weight is being carried out by many researchers in the field of pharmacology.
Aim: The present study was carried out to determine the anti-adipogenic as well as anti-hyperlipidemic activities Extracts of Passiflora edulis f. Flavicarpa Degener leaves (EEPE) using 3T3-L1 Murine adipocyte cell lines.
Settings and Design: MTT assay was performed for cell viability as well as inhibition of the extract produced on the differentiation of pre-adipocytes; to study the anti-hyperlipidemic activity we used Oil red O staining method and pancreatic lipase inhibition activity.. View More»
