    Optic neuritis is an inflammation of the optic nerve, which includes the bundle of nerve fibers which transmits visual information from your eye to your brain. Temporary vision and pain are most common symptoms of optic neuritis.Optic neuritis was found to be 2.5 times more common in women, than in men. The incidence rate as approximately 3 in 100,000 people. The frequency of optic neuritis is twice as high in the spring as in the fall, may be due to loss of sun exposure or due to influence of virus infections.
