Synthesis, Characterization, Biological Evaluation and Anti Corrosion Activity of Some Heterocyclic Compounds Oxazepine Derivatives from Schiff Bases

erazine was condensed with various aromatic aldehyde in ethanol in the presence of acetic acid as catalyst to yield the Schiff bases. These Schiff’s bases on treatment with phthalic anhydride gave substituted oxazepine. The structure of synthesized Schiff bases has been established on the basis of their spectral (FT-IR, Mass, 1H, 13C-NMR, elemental analysis) data. The purity of the compounds was confirmed by TLC. The biological activities of some prepared compounds were also studied against four different kinds of bacteria. These compounds were tested to determine their ability to inhibit corrosion of mild steel in 1 mol.l-1 H2SO4.
