Mycobacterium tuberculosis Challenge in Rhesus Monkeys

New tuberculosis (TB) vaccines are needed to improve protection against M. tuberculosis (Mtb) infection in children and adults. Several approaches are now being developed and some TB vaccine candidates are in Phase I or II clinical trials. The concomitant design of ‘markers of vaccine take’ will aid to escort novel TB vaccines and to monitor patients with TB.
