In this study, we investigated the presence of 65 pesticides from different chemical groups in 51 different types of orange samples collected from Tehran market in Iran. To determine multiple pesticide residues in orange we used QuEChERS (Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged and safe) sample preparation method followed by concurrent analysis with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Results of validation showed that the recovery of pesticides at 5 concentration levels (n=3) were in range of 82.9-102.7% with majority of RSD lower than 20%. Detectable pesticides residues were found in 8% (4 samples) of the orange samples. None of samples exceeded the Iran national standards (ISIRI) and also the European Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs). Calculated estimated daily intake (EDI) in comparison with the acceptable daily intake (ADI) for each pesticides were much lower and don’t cause serious public health problem.
