Median Nerve Block

Median Nerve Block is performed during critical hand surgeries. A median nerve block at the wrist provides sedation and numbness to thumb, index and middle and half of the ring fingers besides half palm. This blockage can be combined with ulnar or radial blocks to obtain sedation to the desired portion. It is performed by injecting anesthetics to the skin between palmaris longus and flexor carpi radialis tendons.
