    Dipylidium Infection

Pathophysiology: Dipylidiasis is a parasitic zoonosis caused by D caninum, a common cestode parasite of dogs and cats and other wild canid and felid species, which are the definitive hosts in the helminth’s life cycle. This disease is associated with close contact with pets; children are parasitised by ingesting dog or cat fleas infected with D caninum.
