Genital Warts is soft growth of tissues that arises in genital parts. It is also one of the sexually transmitted infections which are caused by specific strains of human papillomavirus (HPV). This results in pain, discomfort and itching.
The symptoms of genital warts are vaginal discharge, itching, bleeding and burning sensation. In case if genital warts spreads and enlarge than it may cause a lot of pain to the patient. Around 90% of genital warts are caused by HPV 6 or HPV 11. Since it is transmitted from skin to skin hence it is referred as sexually transmitted disease.
Genital Warts results in increased rate of morbidity and mortality rate globally. It has widely spread among the people of different population. As suggested from one study in India, Genital Warts affects 2-5% of the total population. People among the age between 15-40 years are mainly diseased.
