Clinical neuroscience is a branch of neuroscience that focuses on the study of the central nervous system, and how it is affected by neurological disorders. Neurological disorders are anything that causes a trouble in the normal functioning of the nerves in a body. This includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves throughout the body. Clinical neuroscience takes the studies of both cognitive neuroscience and behavioral neuroscience and applies them in practical ways. The research done in this field can answer questions about how neurological or personality disorders affect the brain, and how those disorders can be treated, and search for to develop new ways of diagnosing such disorders and finally developing a novel treatments.

Clinical electrophysiology can be used in the study and treatment of various physiological conditions, and most notably in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Electrophysiology studies test the electrical activity of your heart to find where an arrhythmia (abnormal heartbeat) is coming from. These results can help you and your doctor decide whether you need medicine, a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), cardiac ablation or surgery.
