Laboratory of Dr. Mark Hochstrasser
Dept. of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemsitry
Dr. Achuth Padmanabhan received his bachelors in engineering (biotechnology) from School of Engineering and Technology, Bharathidasan University, India in 2005. Subsequently he received his PhD from University of Maryland Baltimore County in Biological Sciences working under Dr.Charles Bieberich. During his PhD he studied post-translational mechanisms that stabilize key oncogenes (like MYC) and tumor suppressors (like NKX3.1) in prostate cancer cells. He currently works as a postdoctoral associate at the laboratory of Prof. Mark Hochstrasser in the Dept. of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University. His current work aims at understanding the assembly of yeast and mammalian proteasomes. Dr. Padmanabhan serves on the editorial board of a number of international journals.
My expertise include protein biochemistry, proteomics, Mass spectrometry, protein kinases, protein phosphorylation and ubiquitination, proteasome assembly and function, protein degradation, cancer biology, mammalian and yeast genetics
