Candan Tamerler is Wesley G. Cramer Professor in the Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering at the University of Kansas. She is the director of Bioenabled and Biomimetic Materials, Bioengineering Research Center. Tamerler expertise covers bio-nanotechnology, molecular biomimetics, bio-material interfaces. Tamerler has published more than 90 SCI articles, 5 book chapters, and 35 proceedings articles and >350 abtracts and delivered numerous invited and key note talks in international conferences. Tamerler has been awarded visiting scientist and professorship positions at the University of Westminster and the University of Nagoya, respectively, and is a Principal Member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences.
