Chiara Manzini has completed Ph.D. from Columbia University in 2006.She is working as an Assistant Professor at Department of Pharmacology and Physiology, GW SMHS.The goal of Dr. Manzini\'s lab is to study the determinants of neuronal differentiation and circuit formation in the normal and diseased brain. They start from the identification of genes, which cause neurodevelopmental disorders, and are essential for normal cognition. They then use animal models (mouse and zebrafish) to recapitulate the human disease, understand pathogenesis and study the molecular mechanisms of development.
