Dr. Bokuniewicz is a Distinguished-Service Professor of Oceanography at the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences of Stony Brook University. He holds his doctorate in Geophysics from Yale University (1976). He has over 30 years research experience in the dynamics of coastal processes, currently engaged in studies of infragravity waves. He is an internationally recognized expert also on the dispersion of contaminants and dredging. He is author or co-author of over 100 refereed articles and many other articles and reports.
Behavior of coastal sedimentary systems and coastal groundwater hydrology,dynamics of coastal processes,role of infragravity waves and edge waves in modulating coastal conditions especially the occurrence of rip currents.
