Deng is presently a Hong-Wen Deng, Professor and Edward G. Schlieder Endowed Chair Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, New Orleans, USA. Professor Deng obtained his PhD, quantitative genetics, University of Oregon, Eugene, OR, 1995, Since 1997, After 2 years’ Postdoctoral research, molecular and statistical population/quantitative genetics, Human Genetics Center, University of Texas, Houston, TEXAS, Dr Deng has served as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor for the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Dr Hong-Wen major research interests are epigenome-wide profiling of osteoporosis at micro-RNA, DNA phosphorylation and histone modification levels. He is currently Member of Genetics Society of American Member, American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG).


Genetic dissection of human complex diseases using the state-of-the-art multi- and inter-disciplinary approaches of genomic technologies, and statistical and bioinformatical methods. Interested in developing novel statistical methods and bioinformatics tools for analyzing and managing large, complex datasets in genomic and epigenomic research.
