Ramesh Mittal, MBA, PGDBM, Ph.D. in Business Administration, is a deputy director in the National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM), India. In this position he plans, develops, directs, and coordinates programs in research, education, consultancy, training as related to agricultural marketing not only in India even in South East Asia. His research interest in post harvest related issues i.e retailing in agribusiness, contract farming, agripreneurship development etc. At NIAM his role includes the accreditation of agri warehouses (food safety and quality), commodity marketing consultancy, training and research on post harvest management related issues. Some of his projects focus on determining how specific agricultural competitiveness can be introduce in various states of India. His activities include teaching of marketing management, mentoring students and organizing national and international programmes. He had been a panel member in food forum of India and also presented country paper on Agri food supply chain management at Bangkok, Thailand, Competitive Agri food supply chain management at Hanoi, Vietnam, brand management through geographical indication of Agri -food and Agri- Produce in Tokyo, Japan. In this reference he has written two books i.e International Marketing Management and also on Retail Management. In addition he has contributed more than hundred papers and also participated in various international and national conferences and workshops as a resources person.
