He has received his Ph.D. in 2003 from the University of Liverpool in the field of advanced manufacturing. He did his Ph.D. in the experimental investigation into the Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) of SiC/Polyamide Composites. Background in technology/knowledge transfer for the engineering, manufacturing and science sector, with a specific interest and passion for the applications of micro and nanotechnologies, laser processing, advanced manufacturing and materials. Open innovation consultant for nanotechnologies, develop programmes for web-based interactions and networking. Past editor of micro & nanotechnology email newsletter, over 80 issues produced. Produced and edited the UK’s first online trade magazine dedicated to the MNT sector, 4 issues. Co-organiser and chairperson of UK held Nano-training Summer School in partnership with the ASME and IMECHE Worked with variety of partners on a number of high profile events. Supported UKTI for a number of years on the UK Nanoforum showcase event and was instrumental in its development and for the inclusion of academic poster session. Accomplished speaker having presented at a number of events and as invited guest for several evening lectures. Supported the UK micro: nano community for over 6 years in the development of collaborative projects, technology brokerage and with general information regarding the UK sector.
