Acute Pulmonary Embolism

Pulmonary embolism is characterised by a blockage in one of the pulmonary arteries in your lungs. Much of the time, pneumonic embolism is brought on by blood clumps that go to the lungs from the legs or, infrequently, different parts of the body (profound vein thrombosis). Because the clot restricts the blood flow to the lungs, pulmonary embolism can be life-threatening. Hence, immediate medical care is required; however treatment can greatly reduce the chances of death. Measures to be taken to prevent blood clots in your legs which will help you to protect against pulmonary embolism.
