Advanced Post Harvest Technology

Post-harvest technology is a Science and Method applied to farming produce after harvest for its safety, maintenance, handling, packaging, supply, selling, and utilization to meet the food and nutritional necessities of the people in relation to their needs. Collected fruits and vegetables need adequate and progressive post harvest processing technologies for minimizing the qualitative as well as measurable losses after harvesting. Nearly 40% fruits and vegetables are lost every year due to inappropriate handling, storage, packaging, and transportation. Loss of fruits and vegetables in massive amount due to un-implementation of advance post harvest technical methods also reduces the per capita availability of fruits and vegetables.
