Advanced therapies for Gastrointestinal Disorders

Early colonization of the infant gastrointestinal tract is not only vital for childhood health but for our entire lives with its involvement in the development of our immune and inflammatory systems. We will review factors involved with development of the microbiota starting prenatally and how this affects future health including digestion, allergies, obesity and autoimmunity. This presentation will provide an understanding of this key imbalance to provide the knowledge necessary to treat gastrointestinal disorders by restorative therapies.

Most gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) occur in the stomach or small intestine. These tumors might not cause any symptoms unless they are in a certain location or grow to a certain size. Small tumors might not cause any symptoms and may be found accidentally when the doctor is looking for some other problem. These tumors are often benign. This presentation will provide an understanding of this key imbalance to provide the knowledge necessary to treat gastrointestinal disorders by restorative therapies.
