Biopolymers

Biopolymers are organic molecules that are composed of repititive monomers and made by living organisms. Homopolymers are such molecules that are composed of one sort of monomer, whereas heteropolymers are composed of more than one sort of monomer. Such polymers might either be a repetition unit of 2 or additional monomers, or may be more heterogeneous, complex, and sometimes branched. Nanotechnology along with biopolymers have found several applications in numerous fields including water treatment, biomedical application, energy sector, and food industry.
